Job Title: VDI Configuration Manager

Job Summary:

The VDI Configuration Manager will assist the Lead VDI Engineer in collecting, storing, and updating equipment lists and diagrams to track the current configuration of VDI systems throughout the Pacific Theater. This role will work with VDI engineers and project managers to coordinate the execution of project tasks, provide tier one Cyber Operations Services, and troubleshoot issues in response to trouble tickets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and organize configuration information for the SecureView system from multiple sources and maintain a central configuration list and diagrams.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, including periodic inspections, troubleshooting, and reboot procedures.
  • Lead VDI troubleshooting and configuration changes for various military bases in the Pacific Theater.
  • Operate, administer, and maintain VDI servers, including supporting components such as scan/patch management, DISA STIG, monitoring, troubleshooting, and fixes.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance inspections, virtual server configuration, and VDI server patching.
  • Coordinate appointments with customers for on-site or remote troubleshooting and provide walk-through repairs.
  • Process, prioritize, and resolve trouble tickets using BMC Remedy, CIPS, and vESD ticketing systems.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting support for identified PACAF base instances of VDI and provide training to remote personnel on client configuration, profile management, patch/STIG management, and virtual environment management.
Requirements:
  • Possess experience with virtual capabilities, including software required to centrally manage virtual architecture, such as VMWare vSphere, Citrix Xen, and Microsoft Hyper-V platforms.
  • Possess formal VMWare View Training and extensive experience with View, which delivers virtual or hosted desktops and applications through a single platform.
  • Possess formal VMWare vSphere Training and extensive experience configuring and deploying vSphere in a DoD environment.
  • Active Secret clearance.
