Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter Craftsman to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a Pipefitter Craftsman, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay-out and Assemble Pipe Systems: Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently.
  • Install and Secure Pipe Components: Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position for welding.
  • Assemble and Secure Pipes and Fittings: Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
  • Position and Secure Materials: Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications.
  • Distinguish Metal Materials: Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
  • Operate Tools and Equipment: Operate tools and equipment including: beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
  • Layout and Install Equipment: Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
  • Hydro Test Piping Systems: Hydro test piping systems.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Working Knowledge and Skills: Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site. Must have at least three to 5 years industrial construction experience at or above journeyman level.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Technical Skills: Must know how to do Fitting carbon and ss pipe, pvc, CPVC, HDPE.
  • Work Environment: Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work Schedule: Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
  • Physical Demands: May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Physical Abilities: Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Physical Demands: May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
  • Work Environment: Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical.
