Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist Lead is a key member of the radiology team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of interventional radiology procedures. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of radiology protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient and staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and efficient workflow.
  • Maintain and update interventional radiology protocols in collaboration with radiologists and communicate changes to team members.
  • Mentor and precept new associates to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform procedures safely and effectively.
  • Coordinate interventional radiology students and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient information and procedures performed.
  • Verify written or electronic orders for outpatients and scan relevant documents into the PACS system.
  • Assist physicians in performing diagnostic and therapeutic exams while maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest radiology protocols and procedures, and communicate changes to the team.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to emergency situations that may arise during procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required. Two years of experience in Vascular Interventional Radiography required. Customer service and telephone skills required. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other departments. Current State Licensure required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology required. Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT required. Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
