Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fuel Center Cashier to join our team at Brookshire Grocery Company. As a Fuel Center Cashier, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our customers, ensuring accurate customer transactions, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct checkout totals for customers by properly keying and scanning items, and maintain accurate money count in the register at all times.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities, emergencies, fires, and fuel spills, and take action to ensure customer safety.
  • Answer telephone calls and transfer them to the appropriate store personnel.
  • Remain current on tender policies and procedures related to checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, AML, lottery, etc.
  • Identify the need for parking lot maintenance and communicate with management any incidents, actions, or concerns occurring on store premises.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels by generating end-of-shift or day reports, monitoring product levels, and restocking or informing store management of necessary reordering.
  • Provide a friendly and customer service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and responding to complaints.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
  • Accountable for adhering to all local, state, and federal laws regarding sales of restricted items such as tobacco and cannabis-based products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Fuel Operator C training required.

Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed in a fuel center.
  • Frequently exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to cleaning agents.
  • Occasionally exposed to industrial odors, fumes, and dust.
