About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the smooth execution of surgeries.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the circulating RN to monitor and maintain a sterile field, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, completion of a Surgical Technology program, completion of a Registered Nurse program, or completion of a summer surgical tech extern program.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of previous scrub experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-pounds and push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 lbs.
  • Capable of prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Surgical Technology experience preferred.
