Nurse Infection Preventionist

This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive infection control programs to protect patients and staff from the risk of infection. The successful candidate will have experience in infection control, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
About the Role:
The Infection Prevention Specialist will report directly to the Director of Nursing and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor the IPCP to ensure quality patient care and prevent infections and communicable diseases.
- Provide education and training on infection control practices to healthcare staff, including new hire orientation and ongoing educational programs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and address infection control needs and develop strategies to improve outcomes.
Requirements:
* Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing. BSN preferred.
* Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
* A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience required, preferably in long-term care or infection control.
Compensation:
* Estimated salary: $90,000 per year based on industry standards and national averages.
