About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team at GEI Consultants. As a Staff Civil/Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and construction of dams, levees, hydraulic structures, waterfront structures, excavation support systems, and building foundations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting evaluation and design efforts for structural steel, reinforced concrete, dams, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures.
  • Working on preliminary through final engineering designs, developing design recommendations, and producing design deliverables.
  • Performing engineering construction oversight of heavy civil, structural, and other types of projects.
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal teams.
  • Supporting data management and analysis, technical report development, and assisting in preparation of technical presentations and proposals to clients and regulators.
  • Coordinating with the Design and Project Management Team to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an EAC/ABET accredited institution.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation.
  • 0-2 years of previous professional experience in civil engineering.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with structural analysis programs such as STAAD, RISA, or SAP2000.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to perform field tasks and oversight as needed.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to travel on temporary assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience with design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Revit.
