About the Agency
The Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is committed to providing comprehensive services and programs that promote family well-being and community collaboration. Our mission is to engage families and partners in a decision-making process that fosters safety and permanency for all individuals we serve.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Investigating reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children and adults.
- Recruiting, training, and approving foster and adoptive families.
- Conducting meetings with family members to assess reports of neglect and abuse.
- Collaborating with schools and medical professionals to gather pertinent information.
- Completing thorough assessments based on case management and investigative work.
- Finding suitable placements for children when necessary.
- Developing case plans with families to address and resolve issues.
- Referring families to community resources to meet their needs.
- Documenting case information accurately in our systems.
- Preparing court reports and providing testimony as needed.
- Working closely with community partners, including law enforcement and counseling services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children and families.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and community partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- The capacity to perform well under pressure.
- A valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
This position involves working in both office settings and community environments, including client homes. The role may require emergency response capabilities on a 24-hour basis, which can involve unexpected situations.
