MCPHS University seeks a part-time Nursing Coursework Tutor to provide supplemental tutoring support for students in the School of Nursing.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$70,000, based on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

The Nursing Coursework Tutor will be responsible for providing individualized tutoring support to students in various nursing courses, including Foundations in Nursing, basic math calculation, terminology, and others as needed. The tutor will work with students by appointment virtually/in a remote setting, providing work for students to do following tutoring sessions to check for understanding. The tutor will also collaborate with course instructors to determine plans of action for specific students when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide supplemental tutoring support to students in various nursing courses.
• Work with students by appointment virtually/in a remote setting.
• Provide work for students to do following tutoring sessions to check for understanding.
• Collaborate with course instructors to determine plans of action for specific students when applicable.
• Provide feedback to students specific to progression in subject matter.
• Provide feedback to the program director as to student progress.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with two years minimum experience and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN).
• Commitment to undergraduate and professional education and student success.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals).

Desired Qualifications

• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), five years of working experience.
• Teaching or tutoring experience.
