Job Title: Registered Nurse

At Watsonville Post Acute Center, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our facility.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. This includes assessing and developing resident care plans, ensuring that all nursing care is provided in privacy, and performing various medical procedures such as checking vital signs, dressing wounds, and administering medications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and development of resident care plans
  • Ensuring that all nursing care is provided in privacy
  • Checking vital signs
  • Dressing wounds
  • Passing out medications
  • Assisting with admissions
  • Making rounds with physicians
  • Starting IVs
  • Listening to residents and their families
  • Addressing questions/concerns of residents
  • Performing accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes
  • Providing assistance to LVNs and CNAs
  • Ensuring equipment is in good operating order
  • Monitoring residents that are at risk for falls
  • Collecting lab samples
  • Abiding with all facility policies and procedures
  • Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Attending annual facility in-service training programs
  • Completing other assignments when requested by management
Requirements:
  • Nursing Degree from an accredited school or college
  • Valid RN license in good standing
  • Valid CPR and BLS card
  • Minimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter resident data
Working Conditions:

The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work beyond scheduled working hours at times. The position may also involve exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
