Key ResponsibilitiesThe Truck Body Repair Specialist will be responsible for:
- Assessing vehicle conditions through inspections and diagnostic evaluations to identify worn or damaged components.
- Rectifying vehicle issues by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
- Accessing vehicle bodies and fenders by removing upholstery, accessories, and trim.
- Securing replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
- Preparing repaired surfaces through filing, grinding, and sanding.
- Repairing or replacing defective mechanical components.
- Ensuring shop equipment is operational by adhering to operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance.
- Managing costs effectively by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Maintaining professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional organizations.
- Contributing to the reputation of the maintenance department by taking ownership of new and diverse requests.
- Complying with company policies regarding vehicle safety checks and operating vehicles within safety guidelines.
- Upholding attendance standards and adhering to the work schedule.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a mechanical trade school is preferred.
- A valid Class C driver's license is preferred.
- ASE certification and knowledge of truck body repair are advantageous.
- The ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Technical proficiency and a strong attention to detail.
- A solid work ethic and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
