Plant Operations Director

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager at H.B. Fuller will oversee the daily operations of our Fridley and Maple Grove, Minnesota plants, ensuring a safe, productive, and efficient work environment. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team of 80+ employees, drive continuous improvement, and achieve plant goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 5-10 direct reports and indirect responsibility for over 80 employees
  • Manage a $10 million operating budget and facility capital projects
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve plant performance, safety, and quality
  • Collaborate with division and regional teams to introduce new products and processes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering or chemistry preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive operations management experience
  • Proven track record of success in leading a facility and managing a turnaround or growth event
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with experience in safety culture development and maintenance
  • Knowledge of ISO, Standard Work, and Zero-Defect methodologies

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA or graduate degree in Operations Management, Finance, or Accounting
  • Expertise in SAP or similar ERP database management systems
  • Multi-site experience and process control and quality control experience
  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) and experience in design for Six Sigma DFSS
