Preschool Assistant

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our preschool program as a Preschool Teacher's Assistant. This is a part-time, Friday-only position that requires a passion for creating a nurturing environment and making a difference in the lives of our littlest learners.

The Preschool Teacher's Assistant will assist in carrying out the day-to-day curriculum for classes up to 20 children, creating a wholesome and caring atmosphere, and supervising participants. The ideal candidate will have previous paid work experience with preschool-age children and/or parent-child classes, and may have coursework or in-service hours in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.

• Assist in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans
• Foster social skills and encourage creativity through play, art, and outdoor activities
• Provide support to teachers and program supervisors
• Communicate with parents and the public in a professional and courteous manner
• Respond to work direction and relay information to teachers and program supervisors

• 18 years or older
• Previous paid work experience with preschool-age children and/or parent-child classes
• Coursework or in-service hours in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field (optional)
• Current Certification in CPR and First Aid
• Valid driver's license

The Preschool Teacher's Assistant will work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. The position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may involve exposure to debris and blood-borne pathogens.

This position is not eligible for benefits, but may become eligible to participate in the Minnesota Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) pension plan.
