Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting analysis of waste stream samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Analysis: Collect and test compounds and samples using applied methods and techniques.
  • Data Entry: Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software.
  • Quality Control: Perform QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit and follow all approved Laboratory SOPs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Two-year degree in a science-related discipline.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical Demands: Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting lab tests, and ability to lift 25 pounds periodically.
  • Training and Certification: Ability to complete 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses.
