Job Summary

The Electrician will work closely with the Plant Electrical Engineer to perform electrical trade functions, including installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy. This role requires troubleshooting problems, identifying root causes, and proposing remedies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and replace electronic programmable controllers for aluminum can manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify root causes, and propose remedies.
  • Work off shifts (afternoons and midnights) and overtime, as necessary.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Keep accurate records and focus on details.
Requirements
  • AS Electrical Engineering preferred, but not required.
  • Journeyman license preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of industrial electrical/programming experience or two-year technical degree strongly preferred.
Competencies
  • Problem-solving skills through individual and/or collaborative approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed worker for fast-paced production environments.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and low-voltage electrical to 480V AC.
  • PLC programming required; experience with Allen Bradley PLC5, Control Logix, HMI, and Servo Drive programming and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
  • Experience in computer networking (routers, Ethernet, switches, etc.) preferred.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environments preferred.
