Position Overview
As a key member of the Power & Grid Segment, the North American Energy Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in designing and integrating Schneider Electric's advanced digital offerings to facilitate grid evolution for our most significant clients. The rapid expansion of grid resources, both on the grid side and within customer facilities, along with substantial load increases from data centers and widespread electrification, presents unique challenges for utility companies. This role's primary objective is to collaborate closely with Strategic Sales Account Executives in a technical capacity to foster business relationships with essential stakeholders at our strategic clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • We seek an enthusiastic, analytical individual who enjoys tackling complex problems within a multifaceted ecosystem, has a passion for technology, and is prepared for an ambitious mission.
  • This role involves collaboration across various domains during both pre-sales and post-sales processes to devise optimal technical solutions while serving as a trusted advisor to our clients.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise, adapting and applying Schneider Electric's comprehensive portfolio of solutions within the client's IT/OT landscape, including our Digital Grid, AVEVA, and Innovation portfolio.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of customer operations, optimization parameters, and decision-making criteria to deliver distinctive solutions.
  • Serve as the North American subject matter expert for our Power & Grid solutions, advising sales, product, and marketing teams.
  • Engage in and lead discussions at industry conferences and panels.
  • Bring fresh insights and innovative perspectives to influence operational and technical functions, establishing trust with key decision-makers among strategic utility clients.
  • Possess over 10 years of experience in the utility sector, collaborating with business and technology leaders to identify new initiatives and address existing challenges through recommended software and services.
  • Work closely with program and delivery managers to translate technical risks into actionable strategies for daily operations, supporting risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrate expertise in grid systems management, including solar, batteries, electric vehicles, smart meters, and other connected technologies.
  • Familiarity with the control and coordination of various grid components (assets, devices, configurations, etc.).
  • Knowledge of IT/OT applications (ADMS, DERMS, GIS, Asset Management, CIS, etc.) and the deployment of large-scale renewable energy resources.
  • Evaluate current systems architecture and propose enhancements, advising on business case development when gaps are identified.
  • Articulate software structure, characteristics, behavior, and other relevant aspects to utility stakeholders.
  • Oversee development teams and provide regular updates on systems architecture initiatives.
  • Practical experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms and services.
  • Exhibit strong collaboration and communication skills within a cross-functional, distributed team.
  • Ability to perceive and present the 'big picture' while offering solutions within that framework.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
