The university is currently in search of a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of a Security Officer within the Campus Safety and Security team.
This is a full-time position during the second shift (4pm-midnight).Key Responsibilities:
include conducting established patrols, monitoring security communications, enforcing parking policies, managing the opening and closing of facilities, and overseeing their mechanical functions. You will assist local police and fire departments with any incidents occurring on campus, document security reports, and respond to service or emergency calls as necessary. Occasional light maintenance tasks (such as changing light bulbs, replacing smoke detector batteries, and snow removal) will also be part of your duties. The position requires extensive walking both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma, familiarity with security protocols for buildings and grounds, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Direct experience in security and certifications in CPR, AED, first aid, or as a first responder are preferred. (A background check will be conducted prior to hiring).
