Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team as a PRN Tier 1.5 position. This role requires a strong commitment to scheduling, with a minimum of 48 hours per 4-week cycle, including 24 hours on weekends. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and coordinating independent care to patients within a clinical specialty, serving as a clinical resource for others, and functioning effectively in roles specific to the unit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provides independent care to unit-specific patient populations, serving as a clinical resource for others and utilizing evidence-based practice.
  2. Accountable to patients and families for the processes and outcomes of care during an episode of care.
  3. Accountable to peers for the advancement of group practice on the unit and to the nurse manager for the totality of work performance.
  4. Serves as an effective primary coordinating nurse, collaborating with the inter-disciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.
  5. Serves as a clinical resource for others.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing.
  • Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
  • One year of nursing experience with solid knowledge and clinical skills.
  • Diploma in nursing or Associate's Degree in nursing required.
  • Current BLS certification required, with unit-based licensure as required for the role as defined at the unit/department level.
  • Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
  • Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting.

  • Demonstrates effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member.
  • Ability to learn and use computer systems to manage patient information.
  • Ability to participate in team-building efforts on units, supporting and modeling teamwork.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
