Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operator to join our team at International Flavors and Fragrances. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record data from all stages of the production process, including weighing raw materials, intermediate products, and final products.
  • Perform percent solids tests at required stages and water activity testing on product off the dryer to ensure product quality and optimize throughput.
  • Fill out paperwork with all required information and label product at all stages of production.
  • Monitor production, identify problems, and take immediate action to protect personnel, equipment, and product.
  • Consult with supervisor or knowledgeable production staff to find the best solution and document changes.
  • Ensure a regular supply of raw materials, keep machines clean, and transport raw materials and finished products as needed.
  • Operate the dryer, set up liquid or pulp applicators, and prepare and run the dryer according to assigned run conditions and limits.
  • Collect dry product and put it into dry storage, assemble and prepare raw materials, utensils, and equipment for production, and stage frozen raw materials.
  • Organize and rearrange frozen product in the walk-in freezer and staging area, collect samples at required stages of production, and package product according to procedure.
  • Clean equipment, containers, and utensils following sanitary procedures and clean assigned production areas.
Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands to handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to ground, taste and smell, and perform work involving lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 75 lbs.

Some situations may require pushing or pulling material drums weighing up to 450 lbs. with the use of a support device.

Environmental Exposure:

The work environment may cause exposure to minor to moderate noise levels due to the use of industrial equipment, and the position requires exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity due to working in walk-in refrigeration and freezer units.
