Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history to ensure accurate and safe procedures.
  • Operate MRI scanners and maintain active status with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT) by accruing continuing education credits.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols and follow safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and verify and segment images at the Quality Control (QC) station.
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a clean and orderly work environment and precepting new employees and students.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT) or registry eligibility.
  • Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
  • Current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).

This position is employed by UNC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. This is not a State employed position.
