Nurse Manager - ICU/CCU Unit Job Description

About the Role:

The Nurse Manager - ICU/CCU Unit is a key leadership position within the Wellstar Health System, Inc. that oversees the daily operations of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing clinical and financial resources, and fostering a positive work environment that promotes staff recruitment and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of the ICU/CCU Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and meeting or exceeding clinical and business outcomes.
  • Manage clinical and financial resources, including budgeting, staffing, and supply chain management.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes staff recruitment and retention, and encourages a culture of trust and engagement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, and safety, and ensure that all staff members are held accountable for their performance.
  • Participate in shared governance and decision-making processes, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and unit operations.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.
  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in nursing management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to build relationships with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare financing, strategy, and operations, and ability to use data and technology to support work processes and make decisions.
