Job Overview

Position Title: Chief of Neuro-Oncology

Organization: Nuvance Health

Nuvance Health is actively seeking a Chief of Neuro-Oncology to spearhead a comprehensive network program with clinical responsibilities across multiple facilities. This role encompasses leadership at key hospitals and medical centers within the regions of Western Connecticut and the Hudson Valley in New York.

The Chief of Neuro-Oncology will report directly to the leader of the Nuvance Cancer Program and will be accountable for the strategic development and continuous enhancement of services dedicated to the assessment and management of brain and spine tumors. This includes both benign and malignant conditions, as well as primary and metastatic cancer treatments and associated neurologic disorders.

The appointed leader will establish best practices to ensure exemplary patient care throughout the Nuvance Health system. Responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Developing clinical pathways and protocols
  • Overseeing clinical trials
  • Recruiting top-tier medical professionals
  • Managing budgetary considerations for the neuro-oncology segment of the cancer program

Collaboration with a dedicated team of neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and radiation oncologists at affiliated hospitals will be a key aspect of this role.

This position is part of the Nuvance Health Medical Practice, which is integrated within a newly established network comprising seven hospitals across the Hudson Valley and Western Connecticut. Outpatient facilities include specialized cancer centers.

The ideal candidate will possess fellowship training and board certification in neuro-oncology, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Proven leadership capabilities are highly desirable.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $500,000 and $900,000 annually.
