The ENDO/GI Center at Somerville Hospital provides high-quality care for patients with digestive disorders. Our state-of-the-art endoscopy suite features four procedure rooms, where we perform a range of procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and endoscopic ultrasounds.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist gastroenterologists and nurses with GI procedures
  • Prepare and maintain procedure rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Enter procedural data into ProVation
  • Adhere to high-level disinfecting standards for reprocessing endoscopes
  • Stock rooms and perform unit-specific quality testing
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree in Healthcare preferred
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • SGNA program completion within six months
  • Minimum 1 year of current GI, surgical technician, and/or Endo care experience preferred

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, multilingual setting with rapid patient turnover. High patient traffic. Ability to manage high volumes of patients, prioritize competing responsibilities, and communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other practice customers.
