Locksmith I Job Description

Job Summary:

The Locksmith I is a skilled professional responsible for providing high-quality locksmith services to multiple State agencies in State-owned or leased space within downtown Sacramento and/or Central Services jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide journey-level work at all times and Quality Customer Service to Agencies and building occupants in accordance with principals and guidelines of the Department of General Services (DGS).
  • Work under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades in Region V / Central Services.
  • Collaborate with a team that emphasizes ethics, integrity, and stewardship.

Work Environment:

The Locksmith I will work in a fast-paced environment, providing services to multiple State agencies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • Must take the Department of State Hospitals exam.
  • Employment History on the STD 678 (State Application) must be complete and include dates, accurate hours per week, total time worked, duties and responsibilities, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors.
