Key Responsibilities:
As a Healthcare Technician at Fast Pace Health, you will deliver both clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
Your role will involve providing exemplary patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming environment, and responding promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or treatment responses.
The Healthcare Technician position will ensure effective customer service for all internal and external stakeholders by utilizing extensive knowledge and effective communication with team members.
Below is a high-level overview of the role, with detailed responsibilities discussed during the interview process.
Primary Duties:
Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist role as outlined in the specific job description.
Provide clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Ensure that the activities of the Healthcare Technician align with departmental expectations and comply with Federal and State regulations, including a working knowledge of health information management issues such as HIPAA.
Triaging patients by checking vital signs, performing blood draws, and administering injections, among other tasks.
Monitor patients, documenting and reporting changes in their conditions, such as adverse reactions to medications or treatments, and taking necessary actions.
Support providers in preparing for minor procedures and physical examinations.
Maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
Assist patients using a Virtual Medicine Provider.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of patient charts and forward them as necessary on a daily basis.
Coordinate referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
Maintain positive relationships with all clients and employees; contribute to a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and collaboration with customers, colleagues, and management.
Perform the physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified in the physical demands.

Responsible for understanding compliance aspects by completing all mandatory training.
Maintain the overall cleanliness of the office to support the team and clinic environment, which may include tasks such as waste disposal, organization, and cleanliness of workspaces.
Secondary Duties:
Assist with clerical tasks such as patient check-ins, collecting and recording demographic, insurance, and financial information with a strong attention to detail and professionalism.
Collaborate with the overall team by answering phones, taking messages, and returning voicemails in a friendly and professional manner.
Essential Functions Specific to Supporting Telehealth
Prepare patient charts through virtual communication, typically via phone or video conferencing.
Assist with patient follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls with patients or other facilities.
Level 1:
High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and/or at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
Level 2:
Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 4 years of experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Healthcare Technician role or (2) 6 years of experience in a relevant role.
Level 3:
Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years of experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Healthcare Technician role or (2) 8 years of experience in a relevant role.
Level 4:
Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years of experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in the Healthcare Technician role or (2) 8 years of experience in a relevant role.
AdditionalResponsibilities:
Administrative duties, including but not limited to scheduling, ordering, training, and other tasks assigned by the Clinic or Regional Director.
*Must receive and activate within 7 days of hire.

Experience:
At least 1 year of experience as an MA, EMT, or Paramedic preferred in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
Current License or Certification:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable with the appropriate regulatory agency.
TB and IV Certification required to be obtained within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable in your state.
