Librarian Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Librarian Assistant to join our team at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. As a key member of our library staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to our patrons.
About the Job- You will be responsible for assisting patrons with locating and accessing library resources, including books, journals, databases, and other materials.
- Greet and welcome library patrons in a friendly and professional manner.
- Oversee the operations of the circulation desk during evening/night shifts, ensuring adherence to library policies and updating the Director as necessary.
- Ensure accurate registration of patrons in the ILS library system.
- Process print and electronic books using the NLM classification system in a timely manner.
- Maintain specific LibGuides, updating at least once per month.
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with coursework emphasis in Libraries or related fields.
- College courses in Library Technology or Library Science or work experience equivalency.
- 1-2 years of experience in the library performing general library tasks or customer service experience.
- An estimated salary of $22-$28 per hour based on location and experience.
- A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, vacation accruals, wellness programs, and 17 paid holidays per year.
