Technical Leadership Role for Software Engineering in Humana Government Business

We are seeking a skilled technology leader to join the Humana Government Business (HGB) team as Associate Vice President, Software Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and execute the vision for HGB's software architecture to support today's applications and future products and platforms.
  • Lead a top-flight technology team responsible for designing, engineering, and maintaining HGB's portfolio of software solutions.
  • Work with HR to enhance recruiting, onboarding, and training programs to support the growth of the engineering organization.
  • Identify and leverage top outside services talent to grow and maximize business results.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to deliver high-quality Software-as-a-Service solutions.
  • Evolving the group's standards, policies, procedures, key performance indicators, and organizational structure to support activity and growth.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years of experience leading a software engineering team.
  • Proven track record in setting and executing large-scale strategies for software engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to expand and elevate team capabilities and performance.
  • Bachelor's degree required; eQIP background check process must be completed and passed.
  • Experience creating a roadmap, vision, and strategy for an entire portfolio of software solutions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize diverse sets of projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills at all organizational levels.
  • Prior experience working in a large, highly matrixed company.
About the Opportunity

This position offers a competitive salary of $175,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a multi-level organization of 60-70 associates and drive strategic initiatives to strengthen our position in the market.

This is a full-time position that can be located anywhere within the lower 48 states. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
