Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL Class A Delivery Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for safely transporting food and beverage products to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a tractor trailer or straight truck on local and over-the-road routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure accurate and timely responses to questions.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required to maintain a safe and efficient delivery process.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required and load customer returns onto the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
Requirements
  • 12 months commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Local route delivery experience.
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet).
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e., POD).
