Position Overview:

The Residential Maintenance Technician will be tasked with ensuring that all housing units are well-maintained and operational. Candidates with expertise in the installation of heating systems, plumbing fixtures, and general maintenance across various units will be prioritized for this role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute carpentry projects, including the repair or replacement of roofing materials, doors, cabinetry, and windows.
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform painting and finishing tasks as necessary.
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs in line with local regulations.
  • Uphold a courteous and professional demeanor while interacting with residents.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of relevant apprenticeships in maintenance trades.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in a maintenance role.

Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal building regulations.
  • Ability to perform a range of semi-skilled maintenance tasks across different disciplines.
  • Proficiency in interpreting architectural plans and schematics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance protocols and preventive maintenance practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must maintain a drug-free workplace as a condition of employment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to engage in prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to manage physical tasks associated with maintenance work.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.

Work Environment:

  • Potential exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and airborne particles.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: $20.60 per hour
