Professional Consultant Opportunity

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Professional Consultant to join our team of experienced accounting and finance professionals. As a Professional Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing expert financial guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Close Process: Manage the month-end close process, including the preparation and review of closing journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as the preparation of month-end financial statements and analysis.
  • Financial Transactions: Oversee the day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, and posting transactions such as revenue, accounts receivable, cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and payroll in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Process Improvements: Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to expedite daily accounting and month-end close processes to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate, timely reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company.
  • Technical Accounting: Work with accounting leadership to research technical accounting issues and assist with implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Special Projects: Support the execution of the annual audit by providing requested documentation timely, and support management with special projects, process improvements, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of corporate accounting and consulting experience.
  • Certifications: CPA highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial close processes, as well as internal control and SOX compliance experience.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to take on new projects, problem-solve, and drive process improvement in responsible areas.
  • Technology: Proficiency with modern ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, and QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Planning and Organization: Strong planning and organizational skills to consistently meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Team-oriented, results-oriented, with a commitment to client satisfaction.
