About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Inspector to join our team at HNTB. As a Chief Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing TxDOT contracts and ensuring compliance with project schedules, contract documents, and plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Verify Work Progress: Conduct on-site inspections to verify work progress by the construction contractor, document findings, and ensure compliance with project schedules and contract documents.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality: Review quantity disputes, assist with contract close-out documentation, and perform on-site material testing to ensure the highest quality of work.
  • Lead and Mentor: May lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees to ensure the success of the project.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Services, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Services, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of relevant experience, or 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Primary Focus
  • Chief Inspector on TxDOT Projects: Manage inspection teams and oversee TxDOT contracts to ensure compliance and quality.
