About the Role

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screener to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our audiology department, you will play a critical role in assessing newborns for hearing impairments using advanced screening technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough newborn hearing screenings using Otoacoustic Emission and/or Algo hearing screeners.
  • Document results in electronic medical records and maintain accurate tracking systems.
  • Communicate effectively with audiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Identify and report any missed patients for follow-up appointments, facilitating timely interventions.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in audiology or a related field.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient reading and writing skills in English.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Moderate data processing and typing skills.
