Job Summary

The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools is seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to students. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field and be certified or licensed as a School Psychologist. Bilingual skills in Spanish are highly desired to better serve our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate interventions. Administer standardized tests and interpret results to guide educational planning and accommodations. Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Counseling and Intervention: Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social issues. Develop and implement behavior management plans and crisis intervention strategies. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create supportive learning environments.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to address students' academic and behavioral concerns. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans. Offer professional development and training to school staff on psychological issues and effective interventions.
  • Prevention and Promotion: Develop and implement programs to promote positive mental health and prevent bullying, substance abuse, and other risk behaviors. Conduct workshops and provide resources for parents and staff on topics related to child development and mental health.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education and student privacy. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all psychological services provided. Keep abreast of current research and best practices in school psychology.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification: Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred. Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments and developing intervention plans.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, parents, and staff. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity. Bilingual ability, English required and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
