Position Overview:

The Bakery Worker plays a vital role in the culinary operations of the Coast Guard Community Services Command. This position is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Baking Duties: Prepare baked items as directed, adhering to established recipes and schedules. This includes weighing and measuring ingredients accurately.
  2. Equipment Operation: Utilize baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and scales, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
  3. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of various food items, including pizzas, muffins, cookies, and sandwiches, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
  4. Inventory Management: Generate weekly orders for bakery supplies and restock as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
  5. Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of cooking areas and equipment, including thorough cleaning of surfaces, utensils, and appliances.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and management to enhance bakery operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  1. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  3. Understanding of baking procedures and equipment operation.
  4. Physical capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  5. Previous experience in food service, particularly in baking, is preferred.
