Position Overview:
The Bakery Worker plays a vital role in the culinary operations of the Coast Guard Community Services Command. This position is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Baking Duties: Prepare baked items as directed, adhering to established recipes and schedules. This includes weighing and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Equipment Operation: Utilize baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and scales, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of various food items, including pizzas, muffins, cookies, and sandwiches, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Inventory Management: Generate weekly orders for bakery supplies and restock as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of cooking areas and equipment, including thorough cleaning of surfaces, utensils, and appliances.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and management to enhance bakery operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Understanding of baking procedures and equipment operation.
- Physical capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in food service, particularly in baking, is preferred.
