The St. Louis County Library is committed to offering resources and services that enrich minds, enhance lives, and broaden perspectives. As an award-winning library system, we serve over 860,000 patrons through our various branches across St. Louis County.
Salary:
$33,132.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 12:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
One Sunday per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning and dusting of tables, counters, furniture, and shelving units in public areas, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment.
- Maintain floors to provide a safe and tidy atmosphere.
- Clean restrooms to ensure a neat and sanitary environment for both customers and staff.
- Keep staff work areas and break rooms clean and organized.
- Maintain outdoor grounds to ensure a safe and tidy appearance.
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning projects and other assigned tasks to enhance the library's attractiveness and safety.
- Assist in the setup of meeting rooms for library programs and external meetings.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of custodial experience. A strong commitment to providing high-quality public service to library patrons and colleagues is essential.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, stand and reach on an 8 ft. ladder, work independently, stand for up to eight hours per shift, bend to access low shelves, and reach high shelves. Proficiency in using a PC, word processing software, and email is required.
