Job Summary:

The Clinical Secretary Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing direct patient care services and performing clerical duties on a nursing unit. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care services as assigned by the Clinical Director and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

• Perform clerical duties, including answering phones, relaying messages, and acting as a receptionist for visitors and ambulatory patients.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and families to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

• Successful completion of Medical Terminology course and a passing score on the examination, or 2 years of previous specific work experience with medical terminology.

• Completion of approved course of study for Nursing Assistant training or successful completion of fundamentals semester of Nursing school preferred.

• One year of Clerical experience or Nursing Assistant experience preferred. Satisfactory Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.

Special Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, with initial completion within 30 calendar days of hire date and recertification every two years.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium physical demands, requiring frequent standing, sitting, and walking, occasional use of hands and fingers, and frequent talking and hearing.

• May be exposed to infectious specimens, diseases, and soiled laundry, but proper safety and health precautions minimize personal harm or injury.
