Resource Conservationist

The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program provides exceptional opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals aged 55 and over. Qualifications:

A minimum of 15 years of experience in conservation planning related to soil and water natural resources is required. Alternatively, a BA/BS Degree in Biology or a related field in natural resources is acceptable.

  • Possession of a valid State Driver's license
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary
Responsibilities:

This role involves providing technical assistance for the execution of NRCS Farm Bill conservation programs at both the Field Office and Area levels. The Resource Conservationist should have a solid understanding of agricultural production, landscape natural resource issues, the NRCS conservation planning process, and NRCS Farm Bill programs.

  • Carry out tasks essential for implementing the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
  • Support training initiatives on EQIP and CSP program delivery for NRCS field staff
  • Assist in organizing and conducting outreach events
  • Perform quality assurance evaluations of EQIP and CSP program delivery at the Field Office level
Additional Information:
  • Annual training on information system security, anti-harassment, and civil rights
  • Travel may be required occasionally to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
  • Remote work options are available for this role
