About the Position

San José State University, a leading public university in the heart of Silicon Valley, invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Department of Communication Studies. We are seeking highly qualified and experienced instructors to teach a range of courses in Communication Studies, including lower-division general education courses and upper-division major courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of courses in Communication Studies, including public speaking, interpersonal communication, argumentation and advocacy, and media and culture.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies to promote student learning and success.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities, such as curriculum development and assessment, and contribute to the growth and development of the department.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Communication Studies or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in Communication Studies or a related field.
  • Experience teaching upper-division courses in Communication Studies.
  • Strong research and publication record in Communication Studies.
