Job Overview:

The medical courier plays a vital role in delivering patient medication, specimens, lab reports, and other related medical documents from one location to another. The courier drives a vehicle (truck, van, or car) and ensures timely delivery, taking into account traffic and mileage. This position requires strong time management skills and responsibility, as delays can impact patient treatment. The courier must be punctual, organized, and aware of the importance of their task.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive medical items and understand instructions from healthcare facilities. Ensure accurate documentation and secure storage in the delivery vehicle. - Map out efficient routes, considering traffic and mileage, to ensure timely delivery. - Verify recipient signatures and designations, confirming safe receipt of medical items. - Log mileage and maintenance information for company records. - Accurately count and inventory medical items for collection and delivery. - Perform duties within HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.

Organizational Alignment:

This role reports directly to the Operations Department.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required. - Valid driver's license necessary. - Subject to background check and drug screening. - Must be on-time, prompt, organized, and aware of the significance of this role. - Flexibility and trustworthiness are essential for this position.
