Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Animal Nutrition Sales Consultant to join our team in the Western South Dakota and Eastern Wyoming region. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for promoting all aspects associated with the sales and services of products, solutions, and services to livestock producers and key wholesale dealer accounts.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute territory strategy, partnering with internal and external business partners to achieve annual sales quota.
- Proactively manage existing and new customer relationships, ensuring CHS is the supplier of choice for animal nutrition solutions.
- Develop Payback Nutrition market share in the commercial cattle feeding segment by delivering innovative solutions and services based on leading industry trends.
- Effectively negotiate contracts with commercial livestock producers, independent nutritionists, and other strategic partners to pursue new business opportunities aligned with AN growth strategy.
- Develop an optimal marketing plan in support of territory strategy, including but not limited to training programs, tradeshows, producer meetings, and retail campaigns.
- Enable feeding program development and/or provide direct nutrition consulting that precisely meet the producer's needs and goals.
- Guide best practices for sampling - ensure water, forage, grains, and feeds are tested regularly in order to provide the most accurate performance projections.
- Quoting prices, credit terms, and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- 2+ years' experience in Sales and/or Business Development.
- Animal feed and/or beef experience.
- Possess strong understanding of the livestock industry and producer economics.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in nutrition consulting competencies such as customized profit and breakeven projections, ration development, and closeout analysis.
- Strong analytical and business acumen, proficiency in Power BI.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives, and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills, and certifications.
