Job Summary

The Delivery Driver is a critical role at Office Depot, responsible for delivering customer orders in a timely and customer-oriented manner. This position requires a high level of efficiency, safety, and quality in all aspects of delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Delivery Vehicles Safely: Ensure the safe operation of delivery vehicles, adhering to standard operating procedures and completing daily pre and post-trip checklists.
  • Deliver Products to Customer Locations: Meet established delivery goals, ensuring efficiency, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. Collect and track customer returns through established Service Level Agreements.
  • Load, Unload, and Secure Products: Load, unload, and secure products to ensure customers receive clean and damage-free merchandise.
  • Complete Daily Route and Paperwork: Complete daily route and all appropriate paperwork, communicating obstacles in Tier meetings that prohibit meeting established goals.
  • Communicate Customer Feedback: Communicate customer feedback to sales and/or supervisory personnel, contributing to continuous improvement of delivery processes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a related field, with route or box delivery driving experience and a valid driver's license.
  • Special Certifications: Valid driver's license in the state the Delivery Driver position is offered, satisfactory driving record reflected during a rolling 36-month average, and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification.
  • Technical Competencies and Information Systems: Experience using POD or tablet devices in scanning customer products, familiarity with scanner and GIS devices preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, using the English language (English competency), basic product knowledge, knowledge of operation of power/mobile equipment, and ability to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Personal Attributes: Minimum of 21 years old, demonstrate a commitment to Office Depot/Veyer Core Values and adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures, physical stamina needed to transport, carry, and load cartons of paper, water, furniture, and mixture of other loads up to 100 pounds with use of appropriate equipment as needed.
