CNC Machine Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • We are seeking skilled CNC Machine Operators to set up and manage conventional, specialized, and CNC machining equipment for the production of both metallic and non-metallic components. Responsibilities may include overseeing team members in various tasks. Currently, all shifts are available with minimal overtime expected. Candidates must possess the ability to independently set up machines and have prior experience with fixture modifications and basic maintenance procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure and operate CNC machinery during trial runs to ensure precision in machine settings or programmed data.
  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to ascertain dimensions and tolerances of finished products, operational sequences, and setup requirements.
  • Identify materials and tooling necessary for the fabrication process.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to design processes required for part and assembly manufacturing.
  • Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, adjusting controls as necessary.
  • Engage with engineers and production staff to troubleshoot fabrication or assembly issues.
  • Calculate and set controls to manage machining parameters such as speed, feed rate, and cutting depth, or input commands to modify computerized machine control systems.
  • Select appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials to meet production standards.
  • Install, adjust, replace, and align tooling and equipment to prepare for production activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machine Operator, specifically with metal materials.
  • Proficient in setting up, starting, and operating CNC machines, with a focus on mills and lathes (predominantly mills).
  • Experience in changing fixtures.
  • Familiarity with tooling processes.
