Overview:

Role Objective:

The Hospitalist Operations Coordinator acts as the main liaison for the daily functions of the hospitalist department, ensuring effective coordination, operational assistance, and intervention across all departmental activities. This role includes onboarding and training new colleagues and providers in collaboration with other departmental trainers. The coordinator collaborates with various health system divisions to guarantee a seamless workflow for patient admissions, consultations, and discharges throughout the health system. Additionally, this position is responsible for organizing monthly and quarterly physician schedules across multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates the smooth operation of the Hospitalist office.
  • Provides input on the selection, training, development, and evaluation of providers.
  • Implements policies and procedures while maintaining a consistent presence in the office and on nursing units to foster positive relationships with providers, nursing staff, case managers, and other departments, collecting insights to enhance workflows and minimize redundancies.
  • Proactively collaborates with other departments to optimize processes.
  • Engages with administration, attends relevant meetings, and assists in documenting minutes and attendance.
  • Handles incoming calls, directs inquiries, pages personnel, and takes messages as necessary.
  • Complies with all safety, infection control, and colleague health protocols.
Work Schedule:

0.5 FTE, 40 hours per pay period; typical hours are in the evenings from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with potential requirements for weekends and holidays.
