The University Hospitals team is seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our esteemed medical staff. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for assisting cardiologists and electrophysiologists in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' status and identify their age-specific needs.
- Acquire patient history and enter it into the Hemodynamic system and/or EMR.
- Prepare patients and attach leads, defibrillator pads, BP cuffs, and set up the sterile field.
- Assist physicians at the table, maintaining sterile procedures and ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment while considering fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure Radiation Safety and Protection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
- Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Accredited Program Radiologic Technology Program or Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Program.
- Experience with pacemaker insertions, scrubbing in, special procedures, interventional radiology, or cardiac catheterization lab experience.
- Advance EKG recognition course experience within 1 year of hire.
- Proficiency in arrhythmia recognition.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Hemodynamic Monitoring.
- Use of various equipment, including power injectors and computers.
- Knowledge of all radiation safety QA.
- Knowledge of proper sterile procedure technique and infection control.
- Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year.
- CCI equivalent.
- Licensed in the State of Ohio.
- Standing frequently.
