About the Role

Zurich North America is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Attorney II to join our General Liability team in Irvine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for representing our insureds in all phases of litigation, including trial, for matters of moderate technical complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent Zurich insureds in litigation, demonstrating technical excellence in case handling, trial preparation, and presentation.
  • Drive positive results by applying the law and legal trends, conducting legal analysis and research, and preparing legal pleadings and documents.
  • Document case files accurately and update relevant information in compliance with best practices.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters to develop case strategies and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Ensure customer service by proactively communicating information and responding to inquiries.
  • Determine and implement alternative dispute resolution techniques as appropriate, using effective mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying current with industry trends.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and collaborating on matters as needed.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in Litigation.
  • Member of the California Bar in good standing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Experience working with Lexis or Westlaw.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance defense litigation legal environment.
