Job Title: Histology Technician - Surgical Pathology

At HexaQuEST Health, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician - Surgical Pathology to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis of patients at UW Health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tissue samples for examination under the microscope by grossing/dissecting biopsy specimens, embedding tissue in paraffin wax, performing microtomy, and completing various staining techniques of tissue on glass slides.
  • Maintain basic instrument calibration, monitor reagents, and perform quality control to ensure accurate test results.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
  • Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure timely testing and delivery of results.
  • Interact daily with pathologists, residents, and other laboratory staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • One year of previous laboratory experience required.
  • Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
  • Associate degree in laboratory or medical laboratory technology (education verification required).
  • Must have a permanent address outside the 50-mile radius of Madison.
Working Conditions:

This is a 40-hour per week, evening shift position with some flexibility based on the needs of the laboratory. A parking permit is required through UW Transportation Services.

This is a quick-start position, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately.
