Cardiology Physician Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiology Physician Assistant to join our team at CURAtive. As a key member of our cardiovascular services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital and clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-operative Care: Assist the surgeon with patient workup, confirm operating schedule and blood availability, and ensure seamless patient preparation for surgery.
  • Surgical Procedures: Assist with patient positioning, prepare and drape the surgical site, and perform various tasks during surgery, including wound exposure and closure.
  • Post-operative Care: Inform the surgeon of patient condition changes, assess patient progress, and implement therapies as needed.
  • Continuing Education: Participate in quality programs, attend in-house meetings and conferences, and engage in regional/national conferences for continuing medical education.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess expertise in vessel harvesting, have experience with cardiothoracic services, and be proficient in surgical procedures, including CABG, EVH, TAVR, TACR, and vascular surgery. A strong understanding of ECMO and ability to work independently are also essential.

Work Environment: This is a full-time position with a schedule that includes availability Monday through Friday for surgery and invasive procedures, with procedures beginning between 7:00 and 7:30 am. Call is required for urgent and emergent OR, cath lab, and bedside procedures.

Position Details: As a Cardiology Physician Assistant, you will work closely with the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for assisting with OR first assist, vessel harvesting, and other tasks as needed. Initially, you will focus on the main OR, with opportunities to assist in CVOR and other service lines as needed.
