Activity Leader

At CommuniCare Family of Companies, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Leader to join our team at Addison Healthcare Center.

About the Role:

The Activity Leader will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a variety of activities for our residents, including one-to-one and group activities, outings, and community events. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead a range of activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor events
  • Develop and implement individualized activity plans for residents
  • Collaborate with the activities coordinator and other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities
  • Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents
  • Assist with decorating for holidays and special events
  • Escorts residents to and from activities as needed
  • Attend community outings with residents
  • May arrange for specialized services, such as library or talking book services
  • Assist with posting activity schedules and keeping bulletin boards up to date
  • Communicate and coordinate with residents, families, and staff to ensure resident-centered care

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in activities or recreational therapy
  • Basic computer literacy and skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid state driver's license
