Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for internal auditing functions, financial transaction processing, and payroll support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform internal audits and inventory control functions, including physical asset management and asset disposals.
  • Assist in developing audit scopes, checklists, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and review best practices for inventory control and assist in integration strategy with other software programs.
  • Perform initial review of accounts payable outflows, prepare and analyze complex calculations related to accounts receivable, and act as P-card Administrator.
  • Support payroll processing, including acting as primary backup for the Payroll Specialist, reviewing and posting payroll-related entries to the general ledger, reconciling and charging out employee benefits, and creating and analyzing various payroll-related reports.
  • Participate in special projects, maintain reports, and handle queries as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or a combination of experience and education that yields the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license.
Working Conditions:

Light physical effort is required by handling objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, carrying, bending, and squatting.
