Clinical Research Nurse Specialist

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing our mission to transform healthcare. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you'll play a vital role in coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for our assigned clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist principal investigators in preparing proposed clinical trials by reviewing trial protocols, contacting relevant departments, and ensuring timely submission of protocol revisions and informed consents.
- Act as a liaison between principal investigators, sub-investigators, and regulatory specialists on all regulatory issues and changes within the protocol.
- Collaborate with the principal investigator, clinical research coordinator, and clinical team to review studies for feasibility, evaluate potential competition, and finalize budgets.
- Recruit and evaluate potential study patients, schedule required appointments, and work with clinical research coordinators to deliver patient-centered care.
- Review medical records for potential study patients, ensure documentation of laboratory test results and procedures, and follow guidelines set forth by the protocol sponsors.
- Provide education to study patients, caregivers, physicians, and ancillary staff members on aspects of patient care, available trials, treatments, and side effects.
- Assist investigators with the consent process, ensuring study patients understand clinical trials and obtain written informed consent.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records on each patient participating in a clinical trial protocol in all applicable systems.
- Evaluate and develop study patient education materials, create study-specific calendars, and plan for study patients' appropriate care under the direction of a physician or advanced practice nurse.
- Notify principal investigators of any adverse events and serious adverse events, including evidence of drug toxicity or unexpected side effects, and report all serious adverse events to sponsors and IRBs according to established timelines.
